Okay, I've been thinking about this. Sunnydale is a one-Starbucks town, right? And yet they have a high school, a cemetery (maybe two, since we've seen two different mausoleums), a pier, numerous warehouses, a hospital, the Bronze, 43 churches, a bus station, a college campus, a funeral parlor... You can say that they need things like a cemetery and funeral parlor because of the high death rate. But don't
they have things in neighboring towns? I mean, in this little suburb I live in, we have 4 elementary schools, a junior high, no high school, maybe 4 churches and a bunch of parks. We're not even a one-Starbucks town. The high school, the hospital, malls, everything, they're all in neighboring suburbs. So I don't get how a supposedly tiny little town like Sunnydale is supposed to be boring when they have more stuff than I could have walked to in
Chicago!!!!! Okay, I'm done.
(BTW, little tant and rave for me: We're singing Seasons of Love from Rent for graduation. This damn song is gonna be in my head until July.)

When you're right, you're right. And Nat's right on this one. Besides the way the good citizens of Sunnydale get killed left and right every week, if the town was that small the population would have been cut in half just since the show started.

i used to live in a town with a population of 150 (and that is being generous) and it had six churches. so thats 25 per church, which is not accurate due to people who attend... maybe i used to live on the hellmouth, it would explain alot. i don't remember any vampires, but maybe i have the hellmouth repression syndrome that seems so common in sunnydale. there were a lot of hicks, and i think maybe i'd prefer vamps to
hicks. at least with vamps your safe in the day time, and they can't invite themselves in. oh how i wish all you had to do to get a hick out of your face was flash a cross or splash some holy water. those of you out there who haven't experienced the hick phenomena for yourselves might think i'm being a bit melodramatic, but i say to you, until you've lived in a place where dating/marriage is kept in the family don't judge me.

Sarah, you know, I've actually noticed that all good monster movies (including vampire flicks) take place in small towns. There's always the hero or heroine trying to get out of the town, but then all these monsters come and ruin those plans. So maybe you did live on a Hellmouth and never knew it.

But she got out of the town, without(as far as we know)having to defeat any monsters.

well there is alot you all don't know about me. i once defeated a giant eel. ok, it brushed up against my foot while swimming, but i got out of the water REALLY fast. and later that week a fisherman caught it and was going to let it go, but i stopped him. the thing had been terrorizing the little kids in the shallow swim area, not to mention me in the deep area. the thing was four and a half feet long. (thats bigger than the average midget) and
supposedly had bitten another fisherman's finger off.. but that may have been just a rumor.

ahh, friday night on my own personal hellmouth all the hicks went to this dirt track raceway
"CanAm Speedway, the hottest dirt track this side of hell" hicks came from miles around to watch, so the town's hick population would triple. it was a scary thing. the really scary thing about hick is how hot they think they are, and how they think that every girl wants nothing more than to sit in the back of thier pick up trucks and watch them spit tabacco slime every few seconds, and talk about tractors and deer hunting. sorry for the rant. by the
way a town with a walmart? you are living in the city, all we had was a gas station/groc. store, it almost passed for a resturaunt too, (it had little tables stuck off in a corner where you could eat week old meatballs.) ok i'm stopping.
